Fantastic bass. I am sure it sounds as great as it looks. Sheldon, do you mind elaborating a bit on the "warm up tone"? How exactly would you describe this? I'd suppose that the sound is more vibrant and open with the tone chambers, with a touch less mid-mids, allowing more overtones to shine through. If it's hard to put it in words, you can always ship it over to join the rest of the herd

Are tone chambers optional on the Z as well? If so can they be done with soundholes and what's the cost of this option?

Are the 3 switches on a straight line or in a curve? I never noticed it before

"looks like there's some "faces" hiding in the back book match too!!" I didn't notice it until the customer pointed out that there's a cat's face in the middle of the back. "Are tone chambers optional on the Z as well? If so can they be done with soundholes and what's the cost of this option?" Tone chambers are not an option on the Z series. Due to the light weight and open grain they are not needed or perhaps even desirable. "Are the 3 switches on a straight line or in a curve? I never noticed it before" Both the knobs and switches have a curved layout and are closer to the body edge than previous models.

Too bad we don't have an emoticon for pure lust, because that is what I am feeling right now!! That is just gorgeous.

Whoever said pictures don't do these instruments justice was right on the money. When I opened up the gig bag I was truely amazed. What a spectacular instrument both in looks and playability. I sure am glad you put the tone chambers in. The bass weighs in at 9lbs. 4oz. I don't think my back could have taken a bass over 10lbs. Thank you Sheldon. Sheldon, God has given you a true gift in building fine instuments and it is good to see you work passionately at that gift. As you know the bass clef inlay signify's a cross and I hope to play this instrument for Him as long as I live. Thank you again Sheldon for building such a wonderful instrument. Put me on the list for a Dingwall 5 string travel bass what ever your final design is. Also a set of Dingwall flats as I have already changed the roundwounds to Thomastik Flats. Thank You Sheldon.
