Here are the first two production versions of the Lee Sklar model.

All I can say is that these things sound outrageous!

WOW! Those things look sweet! What's the difference between the Lee Sklar signature and the normal Z2 aside from the PU switching?

The Lee Sklar body is half Northern Ash, half Alder, there is a thumb hole to make removing the control plate easier (Lee's input). The pickups are pre-wired in series, the mid select is pre-set to 250 Hz and the rotary switch is point-to-point wired for bridge, parallel, neck, series as per Lee's personal preferences.

One thing regarding the photographs - both body shots and the blue whole-bass shot reflect some weird light on the arm rest in the body, above the pickups. It looks as if the body had a line carved into it before painting. Moving some lights should do the trick, I guess.

You must be a photographer :D

Thats the dividing line between the wall and ceiling of our photo booth. I'll have to figure out how to fix that.

I'm no photographer :) I thought that the line was between two different sources of light.

Rounding the edges and the corners of the boots should do the trick. Making the walls/roof of the booth spherical should create a perfect environment, though. That way you could throw light directly into the "dome" to create environment light, and than experiment with other light sources thrown at the bass for reflecive light. My terminology is probably way off

Wow, these look great. I noticed the painted bodies on the Z group shot thread and was going to ask about them, but I got distracted.

I'd love to see one of these in Bronze Age.

Wow man.
The finish alone blows me away - this real is "kid in the lolly shop" stuff.
Sheldon, how would you compare the tones of this beast to a Z3?
:D

Got an update from Bass Central last night and delivery for my LS BB is set for December. Guess that means Sheldon is hard at work on it. Super excited about it :D

It's a small world after all. I currently live in Sandnes.
After initially ordering a Combustion I changed my mind and went for the LSS after reading about the development of the Combustion, here in the forum for the most part. A lot of the features and details I liked about the Z2 I tried was not making it onto the Combustion, so the change to the LSS was easy to make, although not so easy on my savings perhaps... lol

Hi EW,

It was actually due to arrive this week according to Dingwall Sales 3 weeks ago. But I still haven't heard anything more, and I've still only paid half of it, so... I guess I don't know.
I don't really want to bother Sheldon too much about it either, guess that only delays things more. So let's just hope everything is under control, which I reckon it surely is :)

How about your one? Any news or pictures?
