I'm not a particular fan of the AB, but that shot really got me Mark. I might consider one in the future if this is how cool they actually look :)[/quote:3d8jiwup] Well, Beep, thanks, but I personally don't think [i:3d8jiwup]any[/i:3d8jiwup] ABI looks as cool as my one-of-one. :) They are amazing bases, like all Dingwalls. You should check one out. Mark
Your bass looks completely black in those pictures.[/quote:3hzdcywq]... ...mostly because my AB finish was done with much less burst than is typical for AB finishes. In other words, the center was finished much darker than normal, at my request. I was looking to do things differently with this bass, and Sheldon honored all of my requests on this project. The bass is technically a prototype, as is my SJ, because Sheldon and I used it as a study in "what if we tried this." It is truly a one-of-one. :) Thanks again, Sheldon! :D Mark

Here's a picture of me and my ABII from a gig my band played in February. The colour stage lights made my friend's photos really amazing.

Oh, man. Why can't I have a keyboardist that looks like that? Here's ours. He ain't pretty, but he sure can play the white right off the keys. Mark

Here are the pictures of my bass' second gig. It was a 200 mile trip in one direction and our car broke down while we were going there - we were lucky to find a village mechanic that butchered the car - but made it run long enough to do the gig and return. We barely made it to the soundcheck, but regardless, we had a great time.
Well, as long as he didn't butcher that AB... Still think you're a brave man concidering going fretless on your first Dingwall.. :D[/quote:1vhzihx5] Frets are overrated  To be frank, people that haven't even heard of the fanned fret concept have tried my fretless and have found it weird but manageable. They'd play a fretted Dingwall as if it was their own, as they wouldn't need to aim for the fretline. I do make most mistakes on the A, D and G strings in the first few frets, I don't stretch the pinky enough if I'm not thinking or watching. The E and B strings are surprisingly not a problem, as I guess I'm mentally prepared for the stretch. Nothing time won't fix. I'm also still not brave enough to go above the 14th fret in a band setting :)

Happy customer at work! This is a pic of the first show I played with my new Z3 ... this bass is a true work of art. And if you talk about cutting through the mix ... well, this baby knows how to do it. Cheers, Chris
