So I searched the forum for sound clips, and the only results were people asking for clips, or people saying that they would post clips soon. Nobody has ever actually put clips up, or even linked to Dingwall clips somewhere else. So here it is: the unofficial sound clips thread. If you know of Dingwall clips anywhere, even someone else's, please link to them.

[url:2l9wlnqd]http://cdbaby.com/cd/jacktomyfriends[/url:2l9wlnqd] i recorded this album entirely on my (now nate's) ABII. fantastic bass, went to tape effortlessly. everything was direct to the board. (hi nate - sorry for never getting back to you - lost your email. as for your SR5, i flipped it to fund my roscoe 6-er; not sure who has it now. was a nice bass though. i still have my '89 SR5.)

Just put a new track up at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/xavjr - click on "by grace". It's my ABII-5 (straight into my iMac's audio port - serious lag issues) with some Garageband percussion. Kinda short as it's a sketch of a composition. Enjoy. :)

Wow, must be tough to get everyone to rehearsal at the same time. I can't seem to get the tunes to play. Is there some trick to it?

Maybe oneday soon I'll be able to defeat the blocker and hear that big band...

Thank you and its always fun to play in big bands. Gives me a good Note-reading practise as well :D In studio you almost never se notes so to do regular gigs with bigbands keeps you upp to date :D
Here's my ABII on a demo tune called Running Wild, by my band The Phantom Lovers, (recorded on an iBook using GarageBand - the bass was plugged into a SansAmp DI). There are 2 bass tracks on the song: an EBow track(most noticeable at the beginning playing with the violin) and a fingerstyle track. Settings for both were the same: pickups in series, volume full, active switch on, bass off, treble slightly backed off. The Phantom Lovers[/url:3slyv48w] (It's the first track that'll play when you open the link) Enjoy![/quote:3slyv48w] As an update to the above, we've just put up 2 new tracks, recorded the same way: Broken Bones and Great Pretender. All tracks can be downloaded FREE now too! As you'll hear, the bass and EBow bass tracks are clear and up front in the mix. The fact that I did the mixing may have something to do with that but hey, it was what the songs needed..!

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted, but I've been pretty busy the last few months between work, family, and my playing schedule. Our new CD tittled "When You Get to Boston" is coming any day now. There are a few of the new tracks featuring everyone's favorite bass on the Myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/ralphjeffers The songs "killin' me" and "lookin' for" were recorded with my trusty AB1. The other full band track that is currently up "listening to a song" was recorded with my new Ibanez ATK. We recorded the CD in a local studio using real amps and natural room reverb. The bass tracks were all mic'ed with one channel using my good old Ashdown/Bergantino combination and the other channel was an all-tube Fender Bassman 300 into an Ampeg SVT115 cab. My bass was as described in my sig line with a new set of Dingwall strings and preamp set with a tiny bit of bass boost. I hope you guys enjoy. We should have the new CD available real soon. Zac

Here's some sound clips from a cover band. It's really standard material, not terribly exciting from a bass standpoint but the recording quality is pretty good, the last track is probably the most interesting. http://www.nadiaandhighlife.com/ .......BTW, I almost quit when they asked me to bring my Dingwall down onto the beach, luckily no Dingwalls were harmed during the "photo shoot".(I hate taking pictures, it's hands down the worst part of being in a band!)

Yes, lowphat, very pro sound and definitely one of the better cover bands I've heard lately. I never seem to find people quite that uniformly good, I'm a tad jealous. :( Did you have any crabs crawl up your Prima jack-hole, during the photo shoot? :) EG

Thanks for the kind words! It's a fun group, super good folks! As far as the Dingwall down on the beach?...no problems except anxiety. Besides a swimming pool or maybe a pen full of livestock the beach is about the last place I want my bass to be. Salt spray and metal don't get along very well.
