...said Yves - teacher, mentor, arranger, sound engineer - after having finished recording and mixing 25 tracks for last year's [i:2848qh5l]Comédie Musicale[/i:2848qh5l] at our local amateur music school. I played on a handful of the tracks, mostly a PJ upgraded Combustion, and by his account the Dingwall sound was such a refreshing pleasure to work with. Knowing how many hours, how much care, and how much meticulousness he put into the arranging and the choosing the best takes, and fixing the timing, and the "making all the students sound like the players they're working hard to be"; well I was very moved by this compliment from him, and so I write it down here so that it may reach its real destination, and maybe pick up a few similar stories along the way. Thanks, Sheldon, for helping harassed sound engineers relax and enjoy the music they're producing, and for the encouragement bass players get when they see the sound engineer enjoying the music they're playing.
