Hey folks, Sorry for taking so long, but here's some pics of my new Buckeye Burl, walnut ABII5. Ain't she a ripper! :) [img:10to5dpf]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/evilGus/Dingwall%20ABII5-X%20Top/wBodyFront.jpg[/img:10to5dpf] [img:10to5dpf]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/evilGus/Dingwall%20ABII5-X%20Top/wControls.jpg[/img:10to5dpf] [img:10to5dpf]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/evilGus/Dingwall%20ABII5-X%20Top/wGrain.jpg[/img:10to5dpf] [img:10to5dpf]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/evilGus/Dingwall%20ABII5-X%20Top/wRear.jpg[/img:10to5dpf] [img:10to5dpf]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/evilGus/Dingwall%20ABII5-X%20Top/wScroll.jpg[/img:10to5dpf] Will post more of a review soon, after I've hand a full band rehearsal, but it's all great so far. Has a bit more warmth and more mids than my previous mahogany ABII5 and the Glock pre-amp is quite different to the Aguilar, so still getting used to which settings work well for me and how much EQ to apply. I'm really digging passive mode far more on this one and the Hybrid Treble Control (HTC) is really useful, but I kinda miss the BlueEQube for chomping the mids out of series mode, giving a punchier version of parallel mode. Can't have it all, I guess...well, maybe not without a few extra mods. :p The most obvious thing, apart from the incredible appearance, is the weight....it's only 8 pounds and 1 ounce, so probably close to 2 lbs lighter than the last one! :) A big thanks to Sheldon and crew for a wonderful bass, and to Hanif, from Verdi music in Perth, Western Australia, for getting it to me for a great price! Cheers, EG

Extremely beautiful. These tops put our older AB-IIs to shame. Lookwise, these AB-IIs easily compare to Primas.

That's why I get upset when I see them. There's no way I would give up my ABII, but these basses sure put it to shame. My ABII is still pretty in the regular bass world, but in Dingwallia, the new ones reign supreme. This one in particular, is just nuts.

Now what can be the next move for the ABII? Matching buckeye pickup-covers, headstock and body back..? :D I'm loving these "Prima ABs" !

Sheldon and the guys are trying to streamline the process and I doubt it will get significantly better feature-wise. You are a lucky man.
