It, like, records vocals, umm, cool. Vocals, acoustic guitar, wheelbarrow, piano, step ladder, strings, patio table, mic an amp (guitar) overheads, bathtub, whatever. No kick drum!!

I've heard this mic is really good. It can record a bicycle ring sound. Even if I ring twice, wait a bit (until it thinks you've left), then ring again, it will record all three rings. You can't trick it! Honest

It records the first ring as a bicycle bell, as it wants you to believe that you have just recorded a bike bell.. It records the second ring, as a doorbell to the studio, (making sure you hear it as such in your monitors), then, when you turn around to see who is there... the microphone rings the bike bell once again, when you turn around to see who rang the bike bell... ...the guy who you believe rang the door bell hits you on the head, knocks you out, then steals all the stuff in the studio. He takes the U-89 as well cause they where partners in the plot all along. Proving once again that it really is a versitile mic and you are a sucker.

Thats a great mic, smaller than an 87 with more patterns! I used to have two but sold them off when I downsized my recording studio. Yours is in better shape, and I would say the price is $500 to low. What is the serial number? Mine had the purple logo, and were from the 70's in the 3xxx range.
