So im a huge Metallica fan. Have been forever. I was too young to actually appreciate Cliff Burton as he died when i was 6. So Jason Newsted was the Metallica bassist i grew up with.

That being said. I keep reading interviews, and articles about him playing a Dingwall. Im just really curious as to what model he plays. Was it used with any Metallica recordings? And so forth.

[url:3vvn6wsl]http://topguitar.eu/jason-newsted-about-his-rig-and-sadowsky-basses/[/url:3vvn6wsl] There is the one link with him saying in an interview that he used a dingwall.

Oh and if this is in the wrong place let me know and ill move it.

While this is the first time I've heard of Jason having a Dingwall, I'm going to add that another famous Dingwall player in metal is Arjen Lucassen of Ayreon, Star One etc ([url=http://www.arjenlucassen.com/content/ayreon-sail-away-to-avalon-video/:3cxfjy27]in the comment section below, about the basses he uses[/url:3cxfjy27]).

Jason used his Prima on the Load sessions. I'm not sure which tracks though.

Ok here is another question then. Did that bass end up with him or the massive Metallica collection of basses?

That I can't answer. Jason was the one who bought it but Metallica may have reimbursed him and kept it.
