We don't get this request very often, but I thought I'd put it out there.

How many would be interested in an E to C string set?

Me! :D

I'll be going to Underdog after school today to get those sets, and I'll try to record my results within a couple weeks, but I have schoolwork to do before that.

I'll do it either way, I'm really curious about the sound I'll get. :)

Hey synsausagebass,

As an update to this thread, I have strung my bass E-C to try it out and I have to say, I'm not impressed. I used regular Voodoo strings and they BARELY fit (it might depend on your particular set) but I don't like it, partly because the taper going back down was sitting on the nut (I was/am afraid of nut wear), partly because of the feel (the strings felt looser), partly because of the tone (it seemed muddier to my ears, but I'm not authority on the subject) but mostly because I REALLY missed my B string!

I gotta say, if you want that high C for chording, just get a 6-str!

Gotta love that low B!

Hello,
TheGrandEnigma
Thank you for your update.

After I got the C-bass (It's my 1st 5 strings bass.) in my hand since September,
I felt in love with the feel the B-string so much,

Like you say, just get a 6 strings bass for chording!
I'm really want to try my hands on some Dingwall 6 str.(fretted & fretless),
but in Thailand there's no chance to do that.
(I bought C-bass without a try, I do believe in Dingwall!) :P

Well, when you can afford the bass you want, just buy it! I bought my C-bass sight-unseen too, and I wouldn't have any problems doing that with another Dingwall.
