Dingwall team - It would be very cool to have Dingwall designed flats for your long scale basses. If there is a way to bump this up your priority stack please consider it. As an incentive, you must realize that people might want to have an extra bass around with your flats equipped... so you'll sell more basses too! :)

You can get TI Jazz flats for the longscale models, and Payson had some ground wounds. The TI's might be a special order, I'd check with Bassstringsonline.com for more fanned fret length flats.

Can someone explain the difference between the TI Jazz Flats and Ground Wound Flats (such as those by Payson)?

Ground wounds take a round outer wrap, wind it on, and then grind it down flat.

The TI flats are smoother than the ground wound. I found the ground wound to grab my skin occasionally making it a little uncomfortable. I get my flats from JustStings.com. The Super long TI flats will fit the 37" scale Dingwall basses. The Long scale TI flats will fit the 35" scale Dingwalls. I use TI flats but have tried the Payson and I like the TI's better. My personal preference. I play a Super J 3x and the long scale fit perfect. I did have a Prima and the Super long scale fit that. Hope this helps.

I have TI flats on the Super J I got from you and I LOVE that super smooth feel. I have a set of Payson Groundwounds for my AB2, but haven't tried them yet. Good to know where I can get the Super Long TIs. Thanks!

Another thumbs up for the TI flats. Based on the suggestions here, I tried them on an AB-II and the fit is very good. If you call bassstringsonline.com they will set you up. Only some of the strings need to be super long scale. They are a little expensive, but should last forever.

I've got an order in at Bassstringsonline.com for my AB-1 six string. A few of the strings are out of stock at the moment, so there will be some delay. No big deal, since I'll have them forever. While I'm at it, I ordered an extra C string, and together with a set of JF 344's I have on the string shelf, my Super J fiver will be strung E-C. I've been wanting to try this for a while. Thanks to Jason at BSO.com for helping me get the six string set together. FWIW, the Infeld super long superalloys are a nice nickel roundwound set that fits the AB's. They are not nearly as expensive as the TI Jazz flats.
