Yeah. I think I should sell it. I'm playing the Z3 exclusively, so it's the right thing to do. But it pains me enormously. Because it's awesome. Used to be first in the Afterburner gallery (for a long time). Here she is: [img:tb58w67p]https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IWxOrSD0SVY/UfLe0LcybCI/AAAAAAAAAFk/tWtfbRtPMNE/s800/afterburner-5-3-tone-burst.jpg[/img:tb58w67p] It's in great shape, some playing wear, but nothing serious. I can send some pics of current condition. Recently had the insides very carefully cleaned by an engineer-guitarist buddy. Comes with a custom flight case, which if you're into it is a cool thing (I'm not). I'm thinking $1800 firm, no trades.

Hmmm... am I asking too much, folks? Would rather sell to someone on the forum, so if you're interested, make an offer.

Thanks, guys. Felt reasonable to me. I'll wait a bit, bump from time to time. Not desperate, and really want it to find a good home.

Seems fair, especially with a custom flight case. Did you try selling it over on Talkbass? I've bought and sold a number of basses on TB with no problems. You might add some info on shipping and payment methods. Are there trade interests that could work for you? That might bring a deal. Best of luck. You can't beat that photo!

I'll try TB next, thanks for the thought. And yes, there I'll add more details on payment et al. I'm not really interested in trades at this point... really (really) happy with my toolset: Z3, NS Designs EUB, PJB 6-Pak, Tonebone.

Is this still available? What kind of payment form are you looking for? Also, any other pics?

It is still available. I'd love to find a payment option that doesn't involve PayPal scalping me, but I guess PayPal would be fine. I'll take some pics tonight to document the current state, any dings and such, and will post them here. Thanks for the interest! adam

Hey, I actually tried to send you this as a message back on 8/17, but it seems stuck in my Outbox (anybody know what's up with that?). Anyhow, here's a link to an album with some current shots: [url:vx9bm58o]https://picasaweb.google.com/100041085882500818394/Afterburner1?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJDJ4qzI4oL9KA&feat=directlink[/url:vx9bm58o] Some notes: * The neck seems to me completely clean. Nothing I'd call a ding on it. * The upper edge of the body has a very small scrach (not a ding), perhaps 1/2 cm long. I could not get it to show in a photo no matter how hard I tried. * The lower edge has a similar scratch and a very small, horseshoe-shaped scratch of some sort (maybe 3-4 mm across). Again, I couldn't get these to show in a photo. * Otherwise, the body is beautifully clean. (Kudos to Sheldon for the amazingly durable finish coat.) * Top of the headstock has a couple of dings, the worse one I think shows in one of the photos. * SN, I believe, is 3867. What else can I tell you? Best, adam

Question about selling on TalkBass: Do I need to sign up for a membership in order to sell something there? Looks like I do, but thought I'd ask any of the veterans here... adam

Yes, you require a supporting membership to sell on TalkBass.

Did you ever post this on Talkbass? I had a buyer for my Combustion in one day when I listed it there. There are hundreds of users online at any given time on Talkbass. It's a sure bet you could move it very quickly over there.

I did, Mark, and had just one query (not serious). I'm surprised. But I'm not desperate. I'm negotiable, but it's a fabulous, valuable instrument and I'm not inclined to have a fire sale, ya know?

It's not a seller's market these days. Either people don't have the money, don't want to spend the money or want stuff for almost nothing so it's not worth selling. I am trying to sell some reasonably priced stuff locally and it has been very slow.

I haven't seen this on TB, am I missing something? I usually check TB for Dingwalls everyday on the off chance that my dream AB-2 sixer with flame maple, red stained top, scrolled F holes and unmarked fretboard will pop up. That said, it is a buyers market. Super nice basses at great prices are not selling very quickly. There's worse problems than an extra Dingwall hanging around. Good luck bump.

I posted it back at the end of August. I'm new to TB, so perhaps something about how I did it wasn't ideal. But more likely, it's just, as you say, a buyer's market. It will find a good home eventually. Until then, it has a good home.

I gave it a bump and a picture. It took me a while to figure out the photo thing on TB. You need to use the full editor and put the direct link to your photo storage site's photo in the image tool. That makes the big, pretty pictures pop in the ad without any clicking to links. Best of luck!
