YES- these photos are NOT photoshopped As a test mule, Sheldon assembled an ABZ3 for me. "vintage burst" finish, Wenge neck w/ morado fingerboard It retains all the passive goodness of an AB, but gains a 3rd pickup, and a Z2-ish vibe. The 4 way selector allows for 1) a solo’d P tone, 2) a solo’d J bridge tone, 3) a Z2 tone (Sheldon claims its SR-like, althou it sounds squished or scooped to me), and finally 4) a bridge/neck in parallel (PJ tone). The pickup cluster provides a natural ramp, but there is still plenty of room in front for slap playing. According to Sheldon “We wired the bridge and middle in parallel and the neck in series. This way the Stingray tone balances nicely with the neck pickup soloed and the bridge soloed balances nicely with the neck/bridge P/J tone” The bass is very understated, and has tremendous potential. [quote="Iv@N":1w4klv6e]Why didn't you guys use supper fatties?[/quote:1w4klv6e] I'll let him answer, but I'm guessing because they wanted different tones and the side by side pickup placement. I don't think there is a P super fatty.

I'm just imaging what a bunch of mini switches could do to that thing... THE TOANZ!!! I really didn't need to see this... wonder if a 3rd PU would fir in my ABZ5... Is that a wenge neck? If it had one more string, I'd be figuring out where exactly you live... and when you're not home! Congrats!
