I just finished the NAMM Z3 prototype body. It will go into sanding and prep tomorrow. Trying to decide on the color now. The front runners are a really vibrant greenburst or blueburst. Feel free to cast your vote.

Great to see! I bet (and I know I've said this before) a fretless Z-3 would be about the coolest thing ever!
I vote for a greenburst or 'other'. There are a lot of blueburst Dingwalls in the world, and I think that the prototype Z-3 needs a color that distinguishes it from the 'pack'!
How about 3 color sunb...uhh...OK, blue it is.
Why is there space between the two rear pickups? 
Isn't it essentially going to be a Z2 with a neck pickup?

Why not try that snot burst yellow/green fade you made for the snot burst Z Since you appear to want to go vibrant.
May I ask why you didn't set the rear p'ups further back, as well as touching, like the Z2, and if i may ask what was the decision to place the neck p'up so rearward.
Is this just an optical illusion based on your SJ-fatty p'ups being much smaller, are they still in the same harmonic spots as the Z1 and Z2 position

I also like the blue (of course...), but I tried something else. The top looks very nice, it will come out more with high contrasting colors, so I made a quick try with photoshop. I`d like to see the black with a dark fingerboard (ebony), and silver hardware with a satin look would make it perfect for me.

My Blackburst Z1 is Regal but a Blueburst would be divine
Add a wenge board and the picture would be complete IMO
Blueburst gets my vote too. I have a blue or purple over flame maple AB1, I say that because some people tell me its blue and others say purple, at our last rehearsal our singer suddenly exclaimed, "Nic your bass just turned purple, it was blue when you brought it in! So, blueburst yes, but make it the magic one you put on AB1s....
