hey all, I remember someone in the distant past posting about a belt mounted holder for bass which eliminates the need for an over the shoulder strap (if I remember correctly). Does anyone remember who makes that thing and does anyone have any feedback on it good, bad, or otherwise? The person who posted the comment seemed to love the load being taken off of his back. i guess I'm getting old thinking of stuff like this, but @#it happens  thanks

+2 - I love mine! I have not yet built Lomo's waste strap, although I now own the ABI he used in the demonstration pictures! Maybe soon. My back is getting worse every day! :(
+1 for the Comfort Strapp's!! :)[/quote:1n8wms5h]
I just ordered a couple of 3" signature straps from Double Treble. Should be here in a couple of weeks. I'll post my impressions then. http://www.doubletreble.com/signature.html Mark[/quote:9kkemffs] Well, they're here and I'm very impressed. It's a 3 inch strap with a pebbled front with my embrordered signature, and a smooth back. The workmanship is outstanding. They're not cheap, but the difference between this and the innumerable ordinary straps I've bought through the years is apparent as soon as you see and feel it. I'm going to treat myself to a couple more of these so I'll have one for each Dingwall. This black and orange one looks great with the Z3, black and blue is for the Voodoo, then it will be brown and gold for the SJ, and black and gray for the AB. Looks like my strap buying days are over :) Mark

I'm curious if any of you Candy Apple Green owners (or other "unusual" colour owners) have a special or matching strap for your bass? I recently bought a nice strap from [url:3ia4gl6g]http://www.eyelandenterprises.com/[/url:3ia4gl6g] and have a couple on order. I know Lee Sklar is an endorsee and they have a little tag they send with the strap with him using a "Chuck the Eel" model in a matching green, however I do not see that specific colour as an option on their straps. I have made an inquiry about it.

I just use a black leather Levi's strap, nothing fancy. Not sure what I want to do, but I need another one since this one is too long. I'll worry about it when it becomes a problem.
I was reading up on straps lately and discovered that Italia is having a 2-for-1 sale: [/quote:gr8vgo1q] I bought a couple of those 4" wide 2-for-1 straps from Italia (gave one to guitar player who has a Les Paul that weighs a ton). They have that sale all the time and apparently, if you're not in a rush, they also sell relatively cheap on eBay. I'm not overly impressed with the straps. The leather/suede is really thick and heavy and it is quite stiff (may get better after breaking in, but I wouldn't know). I had a hell-of a time getting my Schaller straplocks on it - I really had to force them due to the increased strap thickness and short threads on the strap lock.

I don't use strap locks. The tapered (concially shaped) strap buttons on my ABII works perfect enough to keep the strap from ever feeling loose. In fact, it's a bot tough to get them on, which is a good thing. I use a 4" Italia, brown.

Just checked out the MONO, seems pretty interesting. What flavor did you opt for? I am not sure I'd like the shiny finish and might opt for the suede. Let me know!

Yeah, I agree with you on the shiny finish. I went for the smoke colored suede in short size.
Just checked out the MONO, seems pretty interesting. What flavor did you opt for? I am not sure I'd like the shiny finish and might opt for the suede. Let me know![/quote:1pb5z9nu]

Follow-up: I ended up getting the Mono strap (smoke suede) and when it arrived, it was a tad shorter than the 60" they list on the site. Good news is that their customer service is TOP-NOTCH and they were able to find a slightly older strap that was longer. Apparently, in the latest production run, the strap was 59" end-to-end, not 59" from strap button hole to hole. That little bit of difference was the difference-maker for me, so in the end, I was very happy. Nice to know there are still places out there who care enough about a customer who ordered a single strap. Nice product!
