This is the last project we've been working on for NAMM. It's a little brother to the Afterburner. There are a few details to be worked out and financing to be sourced but the goal is to put this into production at a really attractive street price.

Are the combustion PU's the same size as FD3's? They look EMG sized.

They're not the same size as the FDs. Somewhere along the way Sheldon mentioned which shell size the Combustion pups are. Perhaps that info is somewhere earlier in this thread.

Wow, the Combustion is a beautiful instrument. I can't decide on pickguard vs: none for mine, though. :?

If I could suggest some flat color pickguards as an option. I think they might look pretty good. Here are black, graphite-gray, some-kind-of-blueish-gray, white and biege pickguards.

These are Jjango's renders, of course. I've added pickguards on top in MS paint, so it doesn't look that good. I like the graphite pickguard on both basses here and the penguin.. White-blueish looks kind of cheap; I just couldn't get it right, and I had hoped of it being the best combination.

Hey Sheldon,

I love the new bass. Its really come together amazingly well.

Any chance of changing the title of this thread? It's no longer an Afterburner and many of the uninitiated are visiting and viewing.

A quick change to 'Combustion' in the title may allay any confusion down the line for possible new fans.

I think I am set for the root beer metallic. That with the brown pickguard looks killer. I have made up my mind...... although, the olive metallic looks tempting!!!
Very nicely done sir!!!!

After burner model prototype is different from all others.we cannot play guitar if we are not our comfort zone. some people jump at the time of playing guitar. so if you have best air mattress pumpbest air mattress pump you can jump as much as you love to. the floor below you will not suffer with your jump . you can sleep over it also. for outdoor purpose you can use it also.
