The Italian lifting equipment market surges to $X in 2021, growing by X% year-on-year. In general, consumption showed elastic expansion. As a result, consumption reaches a peak level of X dollars. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, the production of hoisting equipment in 2021 is estimated to have surged to $X at export prices. Overall, production has grown significantly. Italy’s lifting equipment export scale

In 2021, the export of Italian lifting equipment surged to X units, an increase of X% year-on-year. Overall, exports recorded a small increase. Exports peaked at X units in 2016; however, exports have remained low from 2017 to 2021.

In terms of value, hoisting equipment exports surged to $X in 2021. During the period under review, however, there was a marked decline in exports. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2018, when exports increased by X%. As a result, exports peaked at X dollars. From 2019 to 2021, export growth will remain at a low level.

Kuwait (X units) is the main destination for Italian lifting equipment exports, accounting for X% of total exports. In addition, exports of lifting equipment to Kuwait were more than double those to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (unit X). In third place is France (X units) with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of exports to Kuwait totaled +X%. Exports to other major destinations recorded the following average annual export growth rates: United Arab Emirates (+X% per annum) and France (+X% per annum).

By value, the largest markets for lifting equipment exports from Italy are France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Brazil ($X), which together account for X% of total exports. This is followed by the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Congo, Belarus, Kenya, Mexico and Yemen, all three with a CAGR of +X%, recording the highest growth rate in this report. Exports from major destination countries grew in value over the period, while shipments from other leaders grew at a more modest pace.

Import scale of lifting equipment in Italy

Foreign supply of lifting equipment decreased by -X% to X units in 2021, the third consecutive year of decline after two years of growth. But overall, imports show a relatively flat trend pattern. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2014, when imports increased by X% over the previous year. During the period under review, imports reached a maximum of X units in 2018; however, imports decreased slightly from 2019 to 2021.

In terms of value, hoisting equipment imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. During the review period, imports fell sharply. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2017, when 10 ton gantry crane imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020 and then declined significantly the following year.

Germany (X units), France (X units) and China (X units) are the main suppliers of lifting equipment imported to Italy, together accounting for X% of total imports. Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden are slightly behind, adding X more from 2012 to 2021, with the largest increase being the United Arab Emirates (+X% CAGR), while other countries sourcing Leaders’ growth rate is more modest.

Austria ($X) is the largest lifting equipment supplier to Italy by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Germany ($X) with X% of total imports. It is followed by Poland with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Austria totals -X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining supplier countries are as follows: Germany (+X% per annum) and Poland (+X% per annum).

Statistics of various crane suppliers in Italy

Austria is Italy’s largest supplier of lifting equipment by value, accounting for 29% of total imports. In second place is Germany, with 14% of total imports. This is followed by Poland with a 13% share.

The biggest markets for Italian lifting equipment exports by value are France, the Netherlands and Brazil, which together account for 35% of the total. The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Congo, Belarus, Kenya, Mexico and Yemen are slightly behind with a combined 24 percent.

The average export price of hoisting equipment in 2021 is $8,716 per unit, down -18.6% from the previous year.

The average import price of hoisting equipment in 2021 is US$3,343/unit, a year-on-year decrease of -26.5%.
