Details on the Z3 are slim for now, but it will likely just be a Z2 with a neck pickup added. I wouldn't expect a debut for many months. The mystery continues... Mark

The SJ5 fatty pickups are a success so far. My plan is to use them in the Z3. One pair in the bridge position. One in the neck. I've boiled down the switching system to a 4 position rotary with the following selections: Bridge soloed Bridge pair in series (aka Stingray) Bridge and neck in parallel (aka Jazz bass with both pickups on) Neck soloed. Assuming I get the SJ5 prototypes off the ground and into production before Christmas, the Z3 will be the next project to be programmed. The goal is to have a pre-production sample at NAMM.

Hey people. You are making me GAS (DAS to stand corrected; Dingwall acquisition Syndrome) for the Z3. I said I'd be quiet (more or less  ) till my Prima Artist arrives. But it sounds very tempting. the only drawback is where will I fit it in the recording schedule? Will it be No18 in the recording queue???

My prediction, Fullie, is "no." With a two-year wait for Z-series basses, I'm sure you will find at least one or two Dingwalls on the used market before the Z3 arrives.

Frank you are right. I need to resist the temptation this moment. I was able to hold back for the Super J 5. I will see what I can do. I have been a good boy all year round plus I have been taking good care of my Dingwalls. I'll ask Santa what he can bring me for Xmas (I can see another therad appearing; or should it merge with "The conspiracy that will rock the Dingwall world"?). hmmm.....
