This settles it, if I get a Z, it's going to be purple! Those look good Sheldon. I love the first pic too! What's the contrast layer?

It will be semi-hollow and have a walnut neck with carbon spar supports and come in a custom colour. It's a deviant version of the Guitar-X series. I have no handle on time line...

I have a Jazz fretless that's unlined, and I had no problems with it and did studio recording as well as live performance with it. My problem ended up being that notes took too long to open up and it therefore felt sluggish to me.

I have no doubts about the tone. It's my fingers and weak ear that give me trepidation.
I've bought my fretless AB-II without even playing a fanned fret instrument before. Regrets: none. If it's fear that's holding you back from getting a fretless, get one now. I find the fretless Dingwall unbelievable. It doesn't sound like a fretless at all if you don't want to, the fretboard is rock solid and a slight preamp high boost will get you the clank and harshness of a fretted bass. I dig your colour choice. Personally, however, I am not ready for the challenge of a fanned, long-scale fretless.......maybe in 3-5 years, if I'm playing the long scale almost exclusively.....

Yeah, it's the only one I really want...a fretless. Lately I've been thinking Z-3, with candy-tangerine finish.

Be like Eddie and get Sheldon to make you a fretless neck. It would be a pain to swap back and forth often, but you could always choose your flavor of the month
