I got my Z3 today and I've got to say, this picture doesn't EVEN begin to do it justice. The motivation for this color scheme was autumn colors, mainly the deep red and the yellow/amber of leaves as they change. In person the red is unreal, deep and vibrant, while the yellow is quite muted on the front (because, I'm guessing, the northern ash is a bit browner than the swamp ash) and less so on on the back. The headstock is a work of art, which doesn't show well in the pic.
I really like the Sklar bars, which help me keep better track of where I am, especially up high on the neck. I'm really glad I did the 22 fret neck, too, as the neck pickup on the Z3 (and Z1) is closer to the end of the neck than it is on my AB II, which just means I have a bit more thumb and popping finger room (I never seem to play up too high, anyway).
The neck is fantastic and already feels like an old friend. And, best of all, the tone and variety of tones are amazing. I'll get some pics up before too long that show this masterpiece of Sheldon and Jeff's off as much as my photographic skills (or lack thereof) may allow.
Thanks again Sheldon and Jeff for a great experience and a great instrument. And thanks to everyone on the forum for sharing ideas, many of which went into the planning of my Z.
