Nice score on the 'bay. I hope it works for you! I passed on a burgundy Super J a few months ago for $1850, on Ebay, not because I felt the price was out of line, but because I've gotten burned on two ebay's in a row. At least I got my dough back through pay pal, but I've sworn off buying on Ebay. I'll stick to Talkbass, the Dingwall forum and local deals for buying a bass this spendy. I had a nice offer from this forum, but I'm holding out for red, burgundy, bronze, white, something on the bright side. My GAS is subsiding, but I'm still looking, and selling off some gear to be ready to pounce, without any guilt. I really should find one to try before I get one and have to turn it if it doesn't work out. My Zon dream bass just never clicked with me, but it was worth a try. We may have another PDX talkbass GTG in August, in Hood River, OR. Any Dingwall owners that make it will be on my bar tab. Anyone susceptible to GAS might want to stay home. Tons of cool basses and gear, in place you can turn up and try things out. A bunch of nice guys who don't mind if you play their basses. Its about four hours from Seattle. Thanks for the post! Yes, I've been very hesitant to buy anything on eBay myself. The seller has a lot of positive feedback so that made me a little more comfortable putting in a bid. I also had a Zon Sonus 5 but my ABII 5 beats it hands down in my opinion. I was looking for a Dingwall 4 string so I'm definitely keeping it unless it doesn't work out for some reason. The SJ4s are hard to come by at an affordable price. I was also considering a Combustion but right now they're not out in 4 strings. Thanks for the note on the Hood River GTG. Sounds like a blast. I've had only a couple of issues on ebay with over 400 transactions. Luckily, they were not expensive items. Never really had a problem selling or buying guitars. I bought my Voodoo 6 off ebay for $1800 and it was a flawless transaction, but I did choose to drive halfway across Texas to pick it up because I didn't want to risk shipping it. Mark

Yep, I've had lots of good luck with Ebay and gotten some very good deals buying snowboarding and kiteboarding stuff in the off seasons. Probably just bad luck, but two bad deals in a row, (non- shippments, I never got anything and no responses) and I decided to take a long break. The whole paypal refund thing takes a while, but it does work. I'm not saying never again, just that I'm a lot more hesitant now. I did load up a search for Dingwalls and a Super J 4. Maybe I'll give it another try. On the other hand, I like selling on Ebay, its quick and easy, and personally I like the Paypal thing. Thanks for the pep talk, maybe I'll snipe the next Super J 4.

Pictures are coming, I'd have to put the bass down and go find the camera. Wait, look at that! I love my mac. Thanks to Kittyboy, a great guy to deal with. This bass feels like Dingwall stripped every bit of fat and flab out of a Jazz, got to the essence of the Jazz bass, then hot rodded the electronics as an added bonus. And I get the P bass, always liked the sound, but could not wrap my hands around the neck. This is the one! Going to try the DR Hellborgs, but it plays great with the TI's it came with.
