I don't think it's one thing specifically. I would narrow it down to three: 1) Sound 2) Playability 3) Looks If I could have another one, it would likely be a Z1 or Z3.

That is a good summary. Hard to pick one feature since you get more. Playability is huge for me. Clarity of tone. If I could have another one - a newer AB2 w/Glock pre-amp or a Z3

I bought one purely based on the sound . Every single clip I've heard I liked and stood out, if anything I was slightly worried about the playability as I've never had the chance to play one before and it seemed so alien to me . So it was indeed the tone that first attracted me but that was only complemented the second I picked it up an played it by it's amazing form . Like a long lost love, or maybe Excalibur . "The one " ...it's just so nice to play and that sound that puts a smile on your face . It should be noted that the lads at Dingwall Guitars are some of the nicest folks in the business as well , they answered all my wacky questions and go above and beyond the call of duty which is super cool and icing on the cake .If I could have another it would be an exact twin to this , it's feather weight and perfect , but in ocean turquoise metallic \m/

Another one? That would be crazy Anyway, I guess an SP5 for me. Hmmmm....

The Good: 1) The B string 2) The action 3) The lightness of it 4) The Sound The Bad 1) the crackling pots - but you learn to live with them nothing else. As for having another one (probably two), well that would be a Z3 and a Super P

For me it would have to be the quality of the design, materials and amazing talent and skill that went into building my bass. The top notch support and customer service I've received over the year is also a huge factor for me.

Hard to say what I like the best, but the great feel of the necks is near the top. The whole package of super detailed design and execution works for me. The outstanding service from the shop deserves high praise. Great community here on line. I like people asking about the frets and designs. I really like letting guys have a go with the Dingwalls at jams or GTG's.

ALL of the notes are 'alive' and singing. Another one? Maybe a Super P...

Best thing is the lucrative appearance of the whole instrument. The looks people give when they see the fretboard for the first time too. Finally the tone and sound. Best low b i have played. If i cud have another. Mmmmmmm a super J5 exotic finish with the mad buckeye all over the top and headstock. Rigged for active / passive and with a drop tuner on the b string. The fretboard above the 12th fret would be fretless. Fretted below the 12th. Dream on . . . .

1. When I open the case, and the collective "holy shit" from everyone around when I take it out 2. Tone. 3. How easy it is to play. Im buying a ABZ 5 next, and then a fretless. Not sure exactly what yet but that's the plan anyways.

For me, it's the smile my ABZ puts in my face every time I plug it in and play one note. The even tension among the strings & playability would be second

The fact that every note is usable without any knob-twiddling. Really changes how you can (and do and should) use the instrument. As for another... I'm a month into the wait for my new Z3, purple burst, spalt top, birdseye fb. So, that one. Wouldn't mind a SuperJ4 for slappin' (on those really rare occasions when I want to slap).

The favorite thing about my Dingwalls is that, well, they're Dingwalls. One more? A Super P-4.

I love the sound, the feel and playability of my Dingwalls. They sound great in a live situation and fit well into the mix......have a great B string.....and the action for me is perfect! If I could have another Dingwall it would be a six-string Z3 or Prima Artist. EG

My favorite thing about my Dingwall bass goes further than just a great instrument. I was always brought up to try and buy good quality product as locally as possible. And being from Saskatoon, where I have occasionally run into Sheldon at the grocery store, knowing that such a great instrument came from a small company where the employees care so much and the owner is willing to give anyone the time of day really shows the character of the instruments they make.

That the fundamentals of my low notes are in balance with their harmonics, making clear daisy-cutting lows. If I play a low C it sounds like a C. Most basses just lose a lot of their fundamental down low, and many times it may sound "good" but it's hard to tell what note it is. The 2nd best thing is the great intonation all the way up and down the fretboard, and the fact that the high notes sound really good, and are clear and balanced with the low and mid notes. I guess that's 3, even though you asked for one. I could keep on going . . .

Since many of these posts are answering the question "if you had another DW, what would it be?" mine would be a Sklar. Reason: I want something very different (but on a peer level) with my ABII, and the Sklar (like the Z2- which is another close contender for me) has better "slap real estate." I tried one out at Bass Direct in Warwick (UK) and loved it (not more than my ABII, though, just different).
