Voodoo serial #001 had an accident last winter that required designing and building a pickguard to reinforce and cover the damaged area. It turned out pretty nicely. I found it interesting to revisit this bass. THe body is a 6 piece laminate of Paulownia and maple. The bar markers were version 2 of our design. They were round bottomed and cast out of white resin. The slots were routed out the side of the fingerboard exposing the marker and doubling as a side position marker.

Wow, that's amazingly cool...that its around and that you've had it back in your hands. I'm glad that you moved away from the decal on the body of the bass, but really, its very similar in a lot of ways to the rest of the voodoos and even pretty close to some of the modern basses. To put things into perspective, when was this bass built in relation to the old Yamaha that you modded to create that body style originally?

How weird. Parallel pickups. Who does that? What year was that beauty made, Sheldon?
