Wow, things have sure changed since I was here last! :o

Now before you laugh, it's for resin casting. I've been having problems with small air bubbles and I've seen this used before and it looks like it works.

Does anyone have any ideas for finding a small vacuum pump? I know Sheldon used them in the shop, so I figured either he can chime in, or perhaps one of you fine folks would know. Of course the easy answer is "online", but I'm hoping to find one local. I try not to shop online. I've tried Acklands-Grainger, Princess Auto, and a host of specialty shops (for hose, pumps, etc) to no avail. Any thoughts?

It's good to be back. Hopefully everyone is doing well. :)

I own a small Gast pump for vacuum bagging. I found it on eBay. It's a vane style, so there's no oil lubrication. Here's a link:

I've heard of folks using old refrigerator compressors as vacuum pumps, but I've never tried one, myself.

Good luck with your search.
