Hey Mitch, I'm in Sarasota with an ABII-5!

i suggest the used market. the afterburner is still in the works so i assume it will be some time till we see a budget j.

Hey Brim, I see that you post quite a bit on this forum. You must have the inside scoop on a lot of this stuff. What is your take on a super j import? I know that Sheldon is launching an AB type import. How are things in Sarasota?? mitch ps. What is your take on the super J??

Hi Mitch, we won't be making any plans until we get the Combustion up and running smoothly. Once that happens we'll start adding to the line.

Sarasota is great, except for the lack of jobs. I have [i:rhprtu39]yet[/i:rhprtu39] to try a SuperJ. The only Dingwall I've played is my ABII-5.

I do have a Super PJ 4 in hand... Dingwall tester as wine taster (good thing is that I don't need to use golden spoons or strings in our case to perform the taste test). I just hope my wife won't mind a 3 day stop at Dingwall-Mania b/c it will take me at least that long to absorb your fine collection. In Dingwall-land: sort of a wonderland but full of Dingwalls

Import stuff often looks the same but never feels the same as hand made. Of course money is an issue not to knock around lightly... But the paragraph on the splash Dingwall web site says it all. These instruments actually are cherished by virtually everyone who owns them. They are hand built works of functional art in every way. IMHO they are one of the few kinds of custom built anything that are actually worth the money. It's no novelty or gimmick. If there was one thing you'd save the $$ to get (as a bass player) that would last a lifetime (or more) it would be a DW bass...

[/quote:1woh75jt] That is true, but even import basses have their uses. Most first basses are cheap, at least mine was. I wouldn't have given $2000 to try playing bass. So, no import bass - no DW several years later Also, if you want to fool around with a fretless, or a 6 string for tapping when you play 4 strings, an import is the way.
