I didn't know if Sheldon has ever used 5-string P pickups, so I kind of went for the idea that Smallmouth was talking about

It might if it's hollow in one of the pickups where it crosses both of the strings.

I have an idea about the A string that may be of help There has been another idea proposed from another Ding-aholic too (not that long ago IIRC) And here is an idea that exists from 2001-2002 on the Super PJ prototype (thank you for the bass Mr Brignadello )

All these hypothetical Super P pics look great. But I don't think the split P pickup will look like that if and when Sheldon decides to put one on a 5-string. The A-string is crossing over the corners of both sides of the split. It would probably sound quite different from the rest of the strings.

I just wonder how would it looks like when fretless. The point is the body top, which is blonde, surrounded by darker woods. The dark body and fingerboard woods (thats the matching!) looks like some sort of a frame to a body top. A very unusual look, I like it much. Will tease Sheldon to build me that one. Make it a 37 inch B and I'm sold! I seriously need to compare the SJ5 to the longer scale AB's etc. and that COULD possibly transplant the Z gas to the SJ5 or potential SP5 gas!
