These are going to GuitarX in Denver. Gary has committed to a run of 12 Limited Edition Quilt top ABIIs. The 6 is a fretless. He managed to talk us into a Buckeye one as well. Gary can be a persuasive dude when he wants to :)
My comment was tongue in cheek; I have a feeling I'll be playing this baby so much that I'll have to sell my others just to get more. Been designing a Prima already. I feel the DAS starting.... r[/quote:1cw4xcs6] I'm with ya there!
The burl walnut is top shelf. You guys that are fixing to receive the all walnut Dingwall's are going to have some of the best tonal offerings to come out of Sheldon's shop. The all walnut basses are my personal favorite. All walnut gives a very clear open even tone and adds to the overall firmness/taughtness of the bass IMHO. It's very cool that Sheldon's doing more all walnut basses and is not helping to relieve my DAS. 8)[/quote:138nqs2z] Yes, the burl walnut is a beauty. The comments on tone are making me even more anxious... Hope that truck gets here soon!

Hello. First I would like to thank Sheldon and everyone who had a part in making the Walnut Burl AB II. The bass is amazing. Fit, Finish, Set-up. Attention to detail is where the Dingwall crew definitely excels. Second, the sound of the all walnut bass. It fits your mood. If you want mellow, the booty of motown or to rock out. The sound is there because the bass is so responsive. I have to agree with Funkshwey when he said the walnut gives a very clear open even tone. There is such a depth to the tone that it almost has an acoustic quality. Thanks, I'm going to play.
Hey Evolver... has the truck arrived? we want an update! :D[/quote:1ih8e9kp] The truck is due Monday. :D I think a few snowstorms have slowed progress a bit. I've been digging out most of the day making sure there's a nice, safe pathway to my door!

Here's one that's on it's way to Bass Northwest. We're starting to dial in the Tiger eye burst finish to where it's becoming a shop favorite.

I wrote one earlier but I got logged off before it posted and then I put in a wireless network and had some issues getting it working
I am one VERY happy customer and proud to be a new Dingaholic![/quote:2h6wxuxu] That about sums it up. That's great that you're so pleased with the new ABII. Your post should be required reading for anyone considering buying a Dingwall sight unseen. Congrats and enjoy. John

Damn it! Now I'm way to anxious to get my Dingwall that I ordered, after reading that post. Around June probably before I see mine. :-( Oh well, good things are worth the patience.

The classic ABI, flame maple top in whale pool burst. Should be here around April and now I can't wait, but I know it'll be worth it :D

Start saying goodbye to all your other basses, this one will do it all and then some. All my other basses, including my only other fanned fret are just wall art now.

John[/quote:1clfwdfm] Thanks John! And, I did indeed order my ABII without having ever played a Dingwall (or any other fanned-fret bass for that matter) and only once had seen one in person. I'm very glad I took the risk; certainly, the good folks on this forum helped convince me and I'm grateful for all the input!
