So, I finally had a look under the pickguard of my SJ5 just to make sure the P pickup routs are there (yes they are). Man, those pickguard screws are long! I noticed that the 5-string P pickups are not listed on the website as well as the P routed pickguards (hint-hint  ).

I thought we'd put them up last week. I'll put them on the list. We should probably add the pickguard as a set.

[img:1z3xxwxp]http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/1648/superpj5.jpg[/img:1z3xxwxp] The swap out is a fairly simple job. One trip to the store for the right drill bit and a tap, maybe some good solder. A little fine tuning to fit the pickguard, and a few wires to solder. With all the tools and supplies on hand, a little more than an hour from Super J to Super PJ. I've been getting a lot of positive comments since I made this change. The passive P tone solo and paired with the neck pup covers the spectrum. The glock preamp takes it to sick levels  . More room to get at the D and G strings for popping. I think the p tone is more in the sweet spot. I couldn't be happier with how things came out. Huge bang for the buck mod! I use a little "goose grease" lube on the drill bit, tap, and all the screws to make them thread a little easier.

Alas, I have only recently figured out how to post a image shack stashed photo. We are in the process of setting up the studio for recording an album, so I will soon be recording all the basses to find the best sounds. That should be a good time to get some short sound clips and figure out how to post them. What is the best way to go about putting up a sample?
