Can I just put a deposit on one, maybe in a blonde white/tort? What's the timeline on this? Also, what about fretless - is that a special order kind of thing? Thanks, Terry

Terry- until Dingwall Sales gets back w/ you- this is the current word from Senior Sheldon in regards to SuperJ5 "I was toying with the idea of doing NAMM. Even had an offer for free space in a larger booth. NAMM '07 is out. There are a few design details I want to perfect. To rush things for NAMM would only force a compromise. Projected release time is the spring of '07. Secondly we've got a Prima Artist backorder situation that needs some focus (we're now quoting 4 years and orders are still coming in). With some re-structuring and training I hope to have that wait down to 12 months or less by the end of '07. Currently the 5-string body is the same size as the 4. I'm squeezing the extra scale length into the butt and the headstock. If we go with a 19 mm spacing, I'll need to subtly stretch the butt. You'll have to look pretty hard to see the change though. ----

I suppose the wait on a standard Prima is less? Oh no... here we go again. Maybe after Sheldon finishes my Voodoo :) Mark

Hi Terry, Our backorder situation of Primas and Z-Series basses has become a major focus for us and as a result we have had to put the Super J 5 on hold until we satisfy the many customers that have been waiting patiently for their basses. Neither Sheldon nor I are currently willing to put a date on the release of the 5 until we can meet our current obligations. At that time we will be able to be much more accurate in our prediction. We appreciate everyone's understanding and like you look forward to the debut of the Super J 5. As with the Super J 4-string a fretless will be an option. Dingwall Sales

Hi Morris, Having gazed into Sheldon's crystal ball we see the first SJ5 appearing at the end of the month. With that in hand we we shall then make a formal announcement. Dingwall Sales

Hi Erwin, Currently there are no plans for a SJ6. I f there is enough demand we will certainly entertain the idea. Dingwall Sales

Like, a new target date for bringing the waiting time down to 12 months, or have you abandoned the idea? Most probably you have only hopes and no estimation date, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Hi Panos, The wait on the Prima Artist front really hasn't changed, still 4+ years. We obviously would like to deliver enough Prima Artists in the next year so as to bring the wait time down to something more managable. As Prima Artists are 100% reliant on Sheldon they can only happen when he can tear himself away from the day to day obligations of running a business. We must maintain the flow of SJ5s, ABIIs, and Z3s to keep the boys in the shop busy and to meet our monthly obligations. It is a constant balancing act with the absolute best of intentions.
