Finaly the moment is near! Time to collect the rest of the money and arrange the order and the shipping. I always wanted to have LED's retro-fitted in my basses but they were just not worth it. But now i have a Dingwall it's time to fit the long-expected Gold Laser LED's. I thinkt the 1st Dingwall owner with LED's...?! Greetings from t Holland, Erwin

Just be careful what type of laser LEDs you put in. The ones used in laser pointers can give off radiation. Also, be careful not to burn someone's retina out or you'll have a lawsuit in your hands. Cool idea though.

Ow yes, and there are no LED's who will match the colour of the bass... (thank you Sheldon...;-) haha. I think green will look the best. Maybe gould, but that would be to bling for me... Greetings en till bass, Erwin

Hello dudes! Sorry for the long delay! I was on a holiday to Monaco! (next summer holiday again...) Have seen a lot of expensive cars but no expensive basses! Sad enough. I really don't know how they do it! I read an artical from mr. Mark King and he said that they are drilling a hole with a very long drill.... Very logical... But one thing, Onde side LED's is particcially broken becouse: I had a peformance a while ago and between two song's, my belt tore out! And my whole bass hit the ground F***ING hard! I just HATE strap locks now! So that's not good whaha....! If there are some people intressed in some good quality pictures, please let me know! My dad come home aobut 2 weeks and he is quite a professional photographer. And i can onluy take pictures with my Samsunng D-600 haha. Greetings, Erwin And by the way, sould i take al Aguilar OBP-2 or OBP-3 Pre Amp...?

[quote="John H.":l77qs7u7]Very nice! I want one with LEDs that light up the right notes to play! Maybe it would have a cord that plugs into my brain somehow so I could actually play what I'm trying to play. :D John[/quote:l77qs7u7] Toys R Us has a model to fit your needs. The plug that connects to your brain is a few years off.

That looks crazy! I probably would have matched the LEDs with the bass and gone for either red, yellow or orange though.

Those ARE quite cool, and I'm sure they're helpful on a dark stage.

Hi Erwin, I'm interested in seeing how they turn out. I had visions of green ones in my trans-green Voodoo before I sold it. I'm also curious as to how they do it. A full report is expected, you know... Eric

I have Sims LEDs on my Sei 5. I have chosen to have only the side ones just for me to see in a very dark stage. The same option I chose for my Custom Empathy 5 Status Graphite (Status' own LEDs). Initially it's nice to look and impress but I don't think I will ask for LEDs in another bass. Then again I will not go for a J bass either  . Anything that makes the person happy it's OK (within reason of course)

I think depending upon the situation they can look cool. I'm glad that the option is available to those who want it, and Sims is well known as a quality vendor. If you look at some of the inlay/led sets you might notice some of the work they've done with luthiers like Ritter and Status. I don't need any myself, but good for Erwin for going for something that he's wanted to do for a while now. Erwin, I hope they come out just the way you want!

I dunno guys...too much bling bling for my taste. I'd think the fanned frets would have enough "wow" factor to turn heads...not to mentioned upon closer inspection the craft level Dingwalls have. But whatever floats your boat. I would make the analogy that laser markers on guitars are like ground FX lights on a honda civic rice-mobile. Hehe. Not my cup of tea. Peace, Brim
