[quote="singlemalt":1tx6n7e6]Another fEarful up and running.
I just finished a 12/6 cube. It sits exactly on my 15/6/1, where it looks and sounds bitchin! I tried the two together Friday night at practice. It was more than I needed, and I've been trying to tame some band volume problems, so I unplugged the 15/6/1 and just ran the 12/6. When everyone remarked on how clear, powerful and deep the "big rig" was sounding I just smiled and waved. The 12/6 did just fine all on it's own.
I can carry it up the stairs to the studio with one hand. 37 lb. Total cost for materials was well under $300. Sneaking some shop time in was the tricky part.
Here it sits on a mutant sub, a TL-606 cab with enlarged ports loaded with a 3015LF and Greenboy's "cheap but good" heavy duty lowpass. I'll be building the fEarful spec sub soon, and everything will stack perfectly.
The 15/6/1 and sub work great together, the 12/6 and sub is a little scooped sounding. This is the difference between the $30 Alpha 6A mid and the much more expensive 18 Sound 6ND410, with a horn.
I expect the 12/6 to carry most small room gigs, anything with good FOH support, and all my practice trips.
The AB-1 six string, now sporting Payson's great sounding nickel strings.[/quote:1tx6n7e6]
Nice. It's gonna look even better once you add that 15/sub to the bottom of those two.
