The Russian transport and overhead crane market will grow by X% to $X in 2021, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, consumption has grown significantly. As a result, consumption has peaked and is likely to continue growing in the short term.

In value terms, the production of transport and overhead cranes fell rapidly to an estimated $X at export prices in 2021. Overall, however, production continued to grow significantly. Russia’s export size of overhead cranes and gantry cranes

Belarus (X units) is the main destination for Russian transport and overhead crane exports, accounting for X% of total exports. In addition, four times as many transport vehicles and overhead cranes were exported to Belarus as to the second main destination, Kazakhstan (X units). Bangladesh (X units) ranks third in total exports with a share of X%.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of cargo traffic to Belarus is +X%. Exports to other major destinations recorded the following average annual export growth rates: Kazakhstan (-X% per annum) and Bangladesh (-X% per annum).

By value, Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Bangladesh ($X) are the largest markets for Russia’s global exports of transport and overhead cranes, accounting for X% of total exports. In terms of major destination countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest export value growth rate during the period under review, while shipments from other leading countries declined.

Import scale of bridge cranes and gantry cranes in Russia
In 2021, approximately X transport cranes, gantry cranes and overhead cranes were imported into Russia; an increase of X% compared to the same period last year. Overall, however, imports continued to show abrupt cuts. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2017, with an increase of X%. During the period under review, imports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, imports of transport and overhead cranes fell significantly to $X in 2021. During the review period, however, imports faced a sudden setback. The fastest growth rate in 2019, with a year-on-year increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, imports declined slightly from 2013 to 2021.

In 2021, China (X units) is Russia’s largest supplier of transport and overhead cranes, 3 ton gantry crane accounting for X% of total imports. In addition, the import of transport vehicles and overhead cranes from China is four times higher than the number recorded by the second largest supplier, Turkey (X units).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of Chinese exports totals +X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Turkey (+X% per annum) and Germany (-X% per annum).

China (USD X) is the largest supplier of transport and overhead cranes to Russia by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Turkey ($X) with X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China reaches +X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Turkey (+X% per annum) and Germany (-X% per annum).

Statistics of various crane suppliers in Russia
China is Russia’s largest supplier of transport and overhead cranes by value, accounting for 87% of total imports. In second place is Turkey, which accounts for 7% of total imports.

By value, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Bangladesh are the largest markets for Russia’s global exports of transport and overhead cranes, together accounting for 95% of total exports.

In 2021, the average export price of transport and overhead cranes will be USD 3,153 per unit, a decrease of -49.3% from the previous year.

In 2021, the average import price of transport and overhead cranes will be $177,319 per unit, down -36.1% from the previous year.
