I've got an ABZ5 in midnight blueburst, which I love the feel, weight, tone, and playability of, but the color isn't my favorite. I got it used for an amazing price, so I couldn't pass it up.

I'd like to eventually have it refinish in a translucent two or three tone burst, or maybe even trans orange, but I don't know if that's even feasible. Can the current finish be removed while retaining the unfilled wood grain feel? Or can it even be removed at all for a new trans finish?

If so, do you have any recommendations of who would be best for this sort of work (you guys or elsewhere)?

Refinishing can be a minor nightmare and expensive to boot. If you want factory results, I'd recommend looking for a trade for a bass with the color you're looking for.
