We've got a run of tweaked out Prima Artists and Z's going on right now. I thought I'd post some photos because a lot of this stuff is either new or one off.

The buffalo inlay was done by Ron Thorn. The silver bordered D logo was done by us to match Ron's inlay.

The interlocking Bass Cleffs signify a cross and was the idea of David the customer. Pretty cool idea.

The paua bars are oversized to match the larger 6-string neck. I like the look.

Beautiful Bass, it looks fantastic! I hope to see the final pictures soon. Sheldon, what is the wood combination of the body (bass/treble)?

Sheldon, on picture IMG_0722.JPG i see under the table headstock with 4 holes on the right size. Am i correct? If true, what is that? A 7-string one?

It looks like a 5er to me.

Man, the matching headstock on the SJ was a great idea! :D

Since Sheldon has been in pimp-mode lately, i wonder how long will it be until we see transparent finishes and fancy tops on the SJ? :)

"Sheldon, what is the wood combination of the body (bass/treble)? " Walnut on the bass side, alder on the treble. Your Z is similar with high density ash on the bass side and low density ash on the treble.

"i see under the table headstock with 4 holes on the right size" That's a 5-string headstock. What looks like an extra tuner hole is behind the headstock.

"Man, the matching headstock on the SJ was a great idea! Very Happy"

Yeah, I wish I'd have thought of that.

"Since Sheldon has been in pimp-mode lately, i wonder how long will it be until we see transparent finishes and fancy tops on the SJ? Smile "

That depends on interest.

ABII woods on an SJ would be bad ass Sheldon. 8)

It would be the DW version of the highly coveted Fender Walnut P.

:?: Didn't you? I thought I was the first to ask for it, but I figured you had already considered it at that point. Thanks anyway for making mine the first! :)

Sheldon,

Any more pics of the Buffalo bass? I'm curious to see how the body is coming along. Can't wait to see it finished...

Rob

p.s. the D looks great and it looks like a great match with the inlay.

I'm working on the Buffalo bass right now. I'll have photos soon.

For now here's a few shots of the first 6-string Prima Artist in the new body shape.
