In anticipation of a new SJ5, and after becoming so comfy with my 32-35" fanned CB custom, my recent quilted blueburst AB1 Elite is for sale. I posted pics when I bought it several months ago and a couple more older shots here. I'll send detailed, new pics on request. Note that I've cleanly and completely removed the dragonfly sticker. It has a bit of the headstock logo rubbed off and my flushmount Dunlop strap hole on the lower body edge. No dings or scratches. Some usual swirl marks on the clearcoat. Installed Dunlop straplocks at the usual positions. Comes strung with D'Addario Chromes (no, I did not touch the original nut) and a new, unopened set of Voodoos. Ships in Dingbag with tools to your door in CONUS or CAN shipped and insured for 1975. Paypal preferred. (Paid 2400 + shipping). Note-it is the only AB1 with this colour/top in the known universe :-)

[quote="nastyn8c":2n8ul3zv]ummm.... WHY are you selling this? :D Gorgeous bass, wish I had the money to blow :([/quote:2n8ul3zv] It IS a beautiful playing and sounding instrument, but I'll be relying on the 32-35" fan jobs pretty much exclusively. I have 2 customs in this configuration already, with an SJ5 to come. I already have more sh*t than I can possibly justify as a passionate hack/hobbyist, and I have neither desire nor need for a stable akin to Fullrange's. I don't keep what I don't play on a regular basis. Plus-my dog takes up a lot of room, she weighs more than my wife :-)

Wow! I seriously think you'll regret it bro....but I understand you making room for the SJ5. That top is gorgeous.

Understood. I'm always pushing Dingwalls over on TB because they certainly deserve more consideration in the "Which versatile 5-string has a great B?" threads. It's a pretty obvious answer to me. I'll try to point some people this way :)

Too bad you have to sell such a beautiful instrument... ...maybe the 'for sale' forum?

Uhm... shouldn't this be on "Gear for sale"? No big deal of course, just not very fair for those who use the appropriate forum.

Yeah, only Sheldon or JP Ferreira can move it now. Really, by the way, where has JP been? He hasn't posted for ages...

I'm glad you f%@ked up - otherwise someone might have snatched it up before me :D :D I decided to pick up this one because of the WAY cool finish. I have never really been a fan of wood finishes. I also do not seem to ever use the active preamp in my AB-II. So I plan on putting my first Dingwall up for grabs as soon as I get Lomo's blue bandit AB-I. I am not one of those guys who wants a stable of thoroughbreds - one good steed works for me. Stay tuned - AB-II for sale.

It would give us a chance to experience a variety of Sheldons work without breaking the bank! Of course as soon as we get a tast of a better axe, we will be clamouring to buy one, or two, or three, or................

Lomo- I've been thinking of changing strings. That B-string of the Chromes looks a touch short. How are they?
