Played the Combustion for the third time last night at my regular praise & worship gig. Great music, great system & players. This bass is so sweet i can't say enough. This thing is in tune on every note!No dead spots. Open E string yea! B string every note the same, everything above 12th fret is in tune and good tone.Like I told Sheldon it sounds like a Pbass or Jbass on steroids, good punch for a 2 band eq. A nice mix of vintage /active tone.Love the string tension all across the neck,it is so consistent and Sheldon has the perfect gauge for each string. A little neck pu and a little more bridge pu flat or a little bass boost ,treble flat or cut a little.Just set back and feel the goose bumps.Everyone who has played it loves it.Our woship leader who is a top level pro with many years of experience is an old school Pbass guy now want's to buy a Dinger for his up and coming 13 year old daughter! I also own 2 SR5's and a Bongo5 which are very fine instruments but this Comby has stolen my heart. Also the build quality is superb, you wouldn't think this was made off shore. It is clear that Sheldon has his standards set high and these basses come thru his shop for final inspection. So if any of you are thinking about one of these beauties I did it sight unseen and It was a good decision and 2 months I didn't now what a Dingwall was. Talk to you soon :D
