Sheldon- Just thought I'd ask about those upgrades for the ABII to convert the treble controls to active+passive. What's the expected availability date? Thanks

I played an ABI in the shop when I bought my ABII. To me the different woods make these two distinctly different sounding instruments, so I never thought of the ABI as being just a passive ABII. The Walnut/Bubinga ABII is rather dark sounding, so having a treble boost is useful. The FD-3 pickups give a nice "barking" sound in the ABII. On the other hand, the Ash/Maple ABI that I played was extremely bright sounding. I can see that the passive tone control would come in quite handy on the ABI.

I just had the hybrid treble control installed on my ABII and I really like it. By the way, it works in both active [i:3l46y6s9]and[/i:3l46y6s9] passive mode. In active, you can dial out some of the clicks and buzzes that are often amplified with active electronics. I've only played with it a little bit, but I'd say you have a whole set of new useable sounds.

^+1 Bassgreaser. I would be flipping the blue EQube on instead. The ability to passively roll off highs is huge.
