I finally joined the family today! I can't believe that after years of peaking through the windows, I'm finally in. Jim hooked me up at the Atlanta Bass Gallery this afternoon with what I believe to be the 2nd made "pimped out walnut burl ABII". I'm sure I'll have many questions in the coming days as I get acquainted with my new bass. But for now I'd like to say thanks to Sheldon and his team for such a beautiful piece of work. Now I know what all the fuss is about. I could write more but for now I'm gonna go play #4014!

AS the rest of the gang here knows. Welcome to your new addiction. If you have any parallel fretted basses at home, prepare then now for sale. After playing that ABII every and all new cool basses will feel primitive, and now matter what GAS you had before, it will only be for a Dingwall now. Someone can hand you a 6K bass and you'll say -nope-not unless its a Dingwall (or i can sell it to fund a new Dingwall) Enjoy and tell us how you find the fanned fret playing

Wow! Congrats for buying such an awesome instrument. The top looks fabulous. I see it has the hipshot detuner on the B...is that right? Wait till you hear a drop low A through a serious rig or through a large PA....thunder!

Walnut's post reminded my that I still owe lomo a top pic. I kinda disappeared from here after I got my bass. Not that it was intentional, just busy between the holiday, the flu and changing jobs. Mine is a Sunday morning gig and I must say what a joy it has been to finally be the proud owner of a Dingwall. Nearly every time I play it, I get nothing but compliments on how it's the most beautiful guitar they've ever seen. Most of the time they are so mesmerized by the top, they don't even notice the frets. I did take a few pics at Christmas, the second one being the closest of the shoot that shows the grain well. Hopefully it will do it justice....nah, I doubt it.

Snow? We did get a half inch or so a weeks back that lasted half a day. Not even enough to mention for you guys, I'm sure. The pics were on Christmas day and the temp was about like today, 55F.
