We are starting to add some new colors to the Super J line. Here's the first one in Olympic White with a Tortoise guard.

Acrylic SJ, anyone? (It's actually only the black one with the color inverted, but how cool is that?) Mark

That inverted acrylic simulation is very cool. For me, the neatest aspect is the coloured fretboard-I wonder why luthiers haven't gotten more into staining light boards like maple??

I have no skills in photo editing, but would be neat to see what Greenboy can do with this. Mark

His wood-working and wood selection boggle my mind. [img:3c9ctwj0]http://www.brubakerguitars.com/galleryimages/MVC-437X.l1.JPG[/img:3c9ctwj0]

Quallabone-that green/yellow beast is regal! I love the coloured board. I've got a great Basslab custom L-Bow 4 in "Nissan sunlit copper metallic" (he uses any available auto paint colour you like), but I regret I had the fretboard done in black :-(

Sheldon was kind enough to let me drop by to check out the shop and he also took a look at a couple of instruments that I've built. It has only reinforced my need for an olympic white Super J. Here's a couple of shots: [img:33sd91w7]http://plasma.usask.ca/people/gs/Dingwall1.JPG[/img:33sd91w7] [img:33sd91w7]http://plasma.usask.ca/people/gs/Dingwall2.JPG[/img:33sd91w7] [img:33sd91w7]http://plasma.usask.ca/people/gs/Dingwall7.JPG[/img:33sd91w7]

Yeah, I'd love an olympic white SuperJ P hybrid. The SuperJ is a great looking bass. I am sure it sounds really good too.

Honestly, at first glance, I wasn't as blown away by the Oly White Super J as many people here. I've just never liked white basses. However, I stopped by Guitar X this afternoon and there was the Olympic White Super J from NAMM hanging on the wall. The black Super J with tortoise and a maple board is still my favorite (Super J) but the white finish has a certain depth and "creaminess" to it that really solidifies that modern-vintage vibe. Sorry to say, but I didn't play the bass. My next Dingwall will either be a fretless or maple board 5. Since I knew that I wasn't going to BUY the Super J, I though it'd be hokey of me to ask to play it. Gary (who owns the shop) is VERY careful about minimizing any play wear on the instruments, so that whoever buys them gets a truly NEW instrument. But really, how much do you need to know? If you like Jazz basses (I'm an oddball who doesn't) and if you like Dingwalls (you'd have to be an idiot not to) the Super J is the right bass for you. John

This isn't a new color, but it's a first for this combination. I really like the look. It's off to our friends at Sleek Elite in Japan tomorrow.

[quote="Sheldon Dingwall":11v6oew6]This isn't a new color, but it's a first for this combination. I really like the look.[/quote:11v6oew6] Me too. In fact, all the available colors look awesome with the white guard, maple neck, and matching headstock, especially the blue, green, and the reds. Imagine them with the soon-to-be-optional block inlays  :). I'd love to see a real-deal seafoam green one, but the coolest color would be [i:11v6oew6]orange[/i:11v6oew6], IMO. Right, Lomo? :) Mark

The others tickle me most with the white guard/maple, though. I've posted before that light blue/white guard/maple is one of my top 3 preferences (the others are ornge/blk/mple/blk headstock and blk/tort/rosewood/blk headstock). This is too much, my GAS pain is flaring badly. Excuse me while I sit down and allow my entire liver to pass ...........

Oh crap. Now the GAS is clouding my brain. Is there anyone out there who's adept at photoshop who could do me the ginormous favour of doing up ornge/maple/white guard/matching headstock and ornge/maple/blk guard/blk headstock so I/we can see the difference?

Personally, I'd go with the orange matching headstock and order a pickguard in both colours.
