Having searched all of the forums post way back - not being successfull - I vaguely remembered - Sheldon - or someone else stating, if only in bypassing mode, that someone were tinkering with a new headstock design. I can't find it. And as I haven't found anyone stating progress in this, I do not know of how much importance this is for manufacturing and cutting costs purposes.
I remember though, that someone (Sheldon?) wanted input from us in one way or another.
How about... the big logotype D as in Dingwall as a form for headstock design? The FANNED (slanted) nut could be part of the D and the rest of the head could be formed like that D letter. So then, you will notice it from afar, and be seen on TV screens without having to search for the full Dingwall name. That D would be enough, just like that F in Fender. I don't think that would be a too far out idea, and it's already a patented trademark. Then you would know immediately what kind of bass you're playing from quite a distance. And if someone goes "wow, what is that bass with fanned frets..?" They always try to look at the head to see if they can see the brand name. If they "detect" the headstock D they'll know where it's at.
What do you think?

as I write this there's a documentary on public service here in Sweden TV about Saskatoon, Saskatchewan...some author (Yann Martel) about wild animals and the coldness up there (just like in Sweden)... some story like that of Pi. Pointing out similarities with Saskatoon, and some parts of Scandinavia, especially Sweden.
