Maybe a dumb question, but why don't you make neck-true basses?

I suppose that because neck-throughs don't have the same kind of attack as bolt ons that's the reason.

I've owned a few neck-through basses (Ric, Alembic, Gibson) and will never try another. I just love the lively tone and responsiveness of bolt-ons. Mark

When I first sat down at the drawing board I was thinking of a headless neck-through. As I read more and more I realized that a bolt-on was the direction I wanted to go. IMO neck-throughs are heavier and sound thinner.
