Hi folks, How much different is the neck shaping on the Z models, compared to the ABII? Are they asymmetrically shaped at all? (Thinner on treble side.) If they are a bit thinner overall and smoother at the headstock, I might just have to bring forward my ABII upgrade and MTD replacement. :) I'm certainly not saying there's anything wrong with the ABII neck, it's just that I've been playing my pre-Gib Tobias a lot lately and now finding the AB neck to be a tad thick. Cheers, EG

Hi EG There's a spec sheet here that shows the difference: the Z is spec'd to be about 10% thinner. http://www.dingwallguitars.com/pdf/Ding ... arison.pdf Let me tell you the difference in sound and feel between my Z2 and AB1 is significant, almost chalk & cheese. Everything feels 'right'. Cheers Ross

I wouldn't mind owning and playing an Afterburner. If I hadn't played a Z/Prima, that is. The AB neck is fine compared to other basses, but Z's is just perfect, at least for my hands, there is a significant difference so if you can go for a Z do it.
