Hey Sheldon,
I'm not sure if I should post this here or on sales. Sorry if this is the incorrect forum.

I recently acquired a modded Afterburner I (s/n 3696). I'm the third owner of it - it is an amazing instrument! Along it's journey, someone swapped the neck pickup for a P-tone, and added a 2 band Glockenklang pre. It has become my #1 bass, with my Combustion V4 being my secondary, and my Combustion V2 (V3 maybe? I'm not sure how to tell the difference) is used permanent backup duties.

I'd like to bug you if it's possible to have the magnetic battery door retrofitted? If so, is there a router template I could have a local luthier do the work, or alternatively, could I send the bass back home for the work?

If the answers are better to discuss privately, feel free to email me. Thank you!

Hi Ray,

I'm sorry it's not possible to install this battery compartment after the fact. There are some nice battery boxes available that only require a rectangular pocket to be routed. Alternately you might be able to fit a battery box to the cover plate.

No need to apologize, I figured it was a long shot at best. I'd rather not route in a rectangular box, so I'll just leave the battery in the main compartment.
Thanks so much for a speedy reply... on a weekend, when you're probably still recovering from NAMM too. You're awesome, Sheldon. Thanks!

That answers my question about retrofitting the battery cover!
