I am a lefthanded bass player and have been playing bass for over 30 years. I own 4 beautiful lefthanded basses (1 Ibanez, 3 warwicks) that I purhased through this period.
It is a pity that Dingwall does not provide lefthanded versions for their wonderful instruments. This is a controversy for a company that takes justified pride in its masterfully crafted instruments and innovative approach, as well as being close to the individual musicians and listening to their needs.
Today, most of the instrument manufacturers offer lefthanded versions to most of their models. Many, like Warwick or Ibanez, do not charge a surplus for this, which is a socially correct approach towards not labeling a normal natural feature as a "different", or "problematic" handicap that cannot be addressed at, or has to be charged an extra cost for.
I am certain that Dingwall has corporate and social responsibility high in its values, being a musicians' manufacturer.
I would happily try a Dingwall bass (D-Roc is now in my sights), if it were available in a lefthanded version.
Please, consider your social responsibility options and give this 15% of musicians the opportunity to not be left out.
thank you for listening,
