Why on earth did they decide to show their faces on NAMM is beyond me. Or is it by invitation? In which case, someone has a great sense of humor.

I know next to nothing about NAMM, but I think any builder/merchant can go as long as they pay. [i:v0dzir1b]SHAME[/i:v0dzir1b] on NAMM for allowing bootleggers to exhibit at the show. Seems like a big F you to all the legit builders.

Ebay is loaded w/ copies of Trabens, Ritters, Warwicks, Fenders....when will they do a Dingwall ripoff?

I thought certain aspects of design were patentable, like headstock shapes. Don't know how much good that does when they can build them in China then sell them all over the world.

NAMM probably doesn't sort through every single applicant or what gear they bring. They take their money and give them the space. I would think if they are made aware, they'd be more likely to do something.

Disgraceful. If I were the design owners, I would be submitting an official complaint to NAMM and be considering my legal options, although that would be difficult as a small builder.

Agreed. How disheartening for a builder to discover copies at the same show. Jens did seem to have a sense of humor about it, though. I think it was Waylon Jennings...he was on the road, and when he discovered bootleg cds of his in the truck stops he would destroy them right there for everyone to see. It would be cool to see Jens pull a Paul Simonon on one of those copies. You know there's no love built into those basses. Feh on the bootleggers. A pox on them.

It's interesting, in the outgoing screen text of the video, it sounds like he is pointing out the illegal copies to someone. Hopefully some authorities at NAMM.

I saw this earlier this week when Jens started posting some humorous pictures of him and the 'faux' Ritters on his facebook page...He's had a good sense of humor about it.
