Hi Dingwall Sales, I did find a press release from Namm 08 mentioning the Super J 5 Custom, and have found pictures and mention of the P option on the J5 in the forum. Why is there no mention of the Super J5, The Custom Super J5, and the Pre pup option on your product web-page?

The SJ5 and the SJ5 CE I think were made after the website was last updated (or at least that part of the website). There's some awesome pictures kicking around the forum if you look for them. For example: http://www.dingwallguitars.com/forum/vi ... &start=270

Thanks Grand enigma, I had found quite a few pix but not that one. I had really only worked through the "Show your Dingwall" thread for pics. I am starting to dream of one of these as I am finding my slap style running into the neck pup on my combustion, and the J5's with the P option appear to have that area clear.

I was thinking about an SuperPJ5 the other day - were they ever made? I remember seeing a few SuperPJs, but only in 4 strings.

I emailed Sheldon a while ago to ask about a SPJ5. His reply was: "We don't currently have a 5-string P pickup. We've worked on it off and on for a while now and are not there yet. As the SJ5 is designed now, a reverse P would not work due to the pickguard shape. All this said, the Super-Fatty neck pickup could be switched back and forth between series and parallel giving your J-like and P-like tones."

Hi Dave, The SJ5 can be ordered with the standard Alder body and an optional Ash body. We can discuss any Exotic top and exotic wood contrasting laminate for these basses.
