A dealer in town has a 2nd hand but immaculate ABII in a striking redwood top. A number of pushy emails later, I have managed to negotiate a very interesting price. No details of this deal can be made public, however on Wed I am going to check it out and if it's as in good conditions as it claims to be I might take this home: [img:1yumvm2l]http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r200/xt660/ABIIREDWOODFRONT.jpg[/img:1yumvm2l] [img:1yumvm2l]http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r200/xt660/ABIIRedwood.jpg[/img:1yumvm2l] [img:1yumvm2l]http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r200/xt660/ABIIREDWOODBACK.jpg[/img:1yumvm2l] [img:1yumvm2l]http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r200/xt660/ABIIREDWOODHEAD450.jpg[/img:1yumvm2l]

[quote="johnbassdoherty":gd2bn63p]any word of your super J yet[/quote:gd2bn63p] Guys, asking for a completion time got me a little "fwap" with a wet fish lol from them :D trust me I have it from a secure source that the Super J is being built as we "type" (not speak) and all good things comes to those who wait, it means that the longer it takes the more certain I will be to receive a perfect instrument, and that ultimately these things needs to get their full course to be of the quality that the factory expects them to be, and they will not send out an instrument unless it is 100% perfect. I am cool about it to be honest, to me now it doesn't matter when it comes, be it Feb, March or even later. In the meantime I have here one of the most beautiful and playful bass in this ABZ 5 and I really couldn't ask for more. If I get this ABII tomorrow I'll have another one to take my mind off and enjoy.

Yay!! I've got it it's in my car I am driving it home now, fuel & wee stop then 90 miles to go in bad London traffic. More pics to follow. Wow Sheldon I like the feel of these fancy walnut necks, and the wenge fretboard is sweet. Ok back to the M40 motorway.... To be continued

Hah! Now I know why the wait is so long.... They 'built and built' until you can't wait any longer and buy another Dingwall to kill the waiting pain. But in reality it was finished before you even knew what you were gonna order one. They're suave like that 8) Won't work for me, I have no money  . . . and no amp :? did I use suave right?

I am more than happy with all my 5'ers. Just got home I need to rest now, long drive, very tired.. zzzz Pics later or tomorrow.

Looks like you are on your way to becoming the British Fullrange Bass!! Seriously though, congratulations - nice find, and when the "baby" arrives please post a pic of those three - kind of a Dingwall Trinity.

Plays like a million dollar and never leaves my sight. EBMM's have come and gone but the bits & pieces Fender is special to me and it's a keeper. ;)

I especially like the small (what looks like) flamed maple rim under the redwood top. It adds a nice touch. It's interesting to see how intricate the ABIIs have become since their "budget" model debut.
