Hi there. I recently became a Dingwall bass addict. It's the only bass I want to play anymore. I'm really interested in their electric guitars as well now, but since they seem to be just getting started, I haven't found much info yet. Has anyone played one of their electrics yet? If they are to electric guitars what Dingwall basses are to the bass world, I'll be picking one up. Thanks in advance for any info!

I really love what Sheldon has done with the T-style body shape. The smoother, less angled uppers, the venetian sharp cutaway, and the "comfort" carves. I think this is a home run for T style lovers. Recessed bridge mounting, utterly clean routes, 5 bolt neck, lightweight ash body, stunning top, all contributors to a unique and very high end take on this popular body style. Very impressed so far. Not just another T style.

Very cool! Waiting on mine as well. No pictures or anything yet. Based on how much I like my Dingwall basses, I think it will be worth the wait.

Got news and a couple of progress photos this weekend from Sheldon. The contours of the body are beautiful, and the flame maple top is gorgeous. One comment from a band mate was that "even the pickup and neck routes have nicer grain and contours than other guitars!". A tasteful teaser for sure, and got me very excited. Thanks Sheldon! Just curious, do you think it will be making it's debut at the Montreal Guitar Show?

Mine is still in fabrication. It has been a longish road so far (since August last). Again, nothing really unexpected, as it is the first one being made after the prototype, so there are things to develop, tweak, etc. I do have photos of the woods Sheldon has picked out for it, and the blanks, and I have to say I am both thrilled and excited. This will be a very beautiful creation. Photos and reviews soon from me, I guess, if yours is due in May.

I broke down and ordered a Custom I much like the prototype in the pictures. Dingwall Sales says it's due to be complete around late May. CAN'T WAIT!!!! What a totally cool guitar. I'll be sure to post once I get it.

Not received it yet. The Custom I and II are still custom made guitars (not "production" in the strictest sense of the word) and so I expect a few delays while things get worked out. Hopefully I'll get some news soon.

Did you get the Custom I yet? If so, how is it working out for you?

Yes. I played the G1 prototype at the Montreal Guitar show. It is the first time in 40 years of playing that I have ever picked up a new guitar and did not have to spend any time getting to know it. It was like I had been playing it for all 40 years. The setup and fretwork was perfect, buttery smooth action (low and fast), slim neck (like my Rickenbackers) and the tone was to die for. The neck was exactly what i like to play, narrow, slim and fast. With the TV Jones pickups, I could dial in any tone I wanted, from twang to bluesy crunch to jazz box smooth with only two controls. The Bigsby was incredibly smooth and returned perfectly to pitch every time it was juggled. All of this while testing it through a bass amp and headphones- a bit like playing through a stereo! The guitar unplugged is incredibly resonant and sounds really great without an amp. The cut away is placed and dimensioned so that when I slid my hand up the neck right to the body cut, my third finger was playing the last fret. Perfect. The pictures here on the site are excellent quality and will give a good idea of how they look, but they don't really do justice to the guitars in person. The nuances and glow of the fit and finish are spectacular. I was so blown away by this guitar that I had to have one, so I ordered possibly the first one other than the prototypes. It should be shipping to me in a few more weeks. Once I get it I'll post pics and another review. ...Dean
