Im making way for a new Dingwall bass and want to create some closet space Up for sale (no trades) For Sale: 2004 Dingwall Z2 4-string bass 3 tone burst finish –incredible “dipped in glass poly” coating Black headstock- Hipshot extender on the “E” string Dual Density swamp ash body Highly resonant maple 3-piece neck w/ morado fingerboard Bartolini p’ups w/ 18vt active pre. This is big time players bass. Super fast neck size and shape, with the thunderous Dingwall scale. A 36.26” E string which readily drops to “D” and sounds huge. This bass has a ton of sustain and tone for days. The Bartolini were specially wound for Dingwall and have a mid focus’d darkish sound. Playing w/ both pickups in series over the bridge provides a barky articulate tone. One can easily replace these pickups for current Dingwall FDs In full disclosure, when this bass was shipped to me, a battery got loose which resulted in a 2” crack of the top wood. I’ve shown the images to Sheldon who stated that this will not impact the sound, playability or tone of the bass as its superficial. I had a local luthier seal the crack, but it’s still noticeable. You can see it on the front body image (image2 above bridge). I can provide up close images as well. Asking $1700 or BO, buyer pays S/H in the US.
I know "bumpin" aint cool, but I wanted this bass to remain in the collectives thoughts[/quote:2rybepqn] I think the occasional bump is cool! So let me bump it again for you. I used to own this bass (I only sold it because I was desperate for money!), and I am trying to pull the cash together to reacquire it from Frank, even though I just purchased a Pre-fire Voodoo Prima. So bumping is kind of not in my interest. BUT, this is a killer bass at a killer price! It plays like butta. The quality of the Z series basses is a cut above the AB's, and the color and finsh on this one is truly dipped in liquid glass look. I know, this is [i:2rybepqn]"ONLY"[/i:2rybepqn] a 4 string, but if you like to play 4's as well, this is an awesome 4 string! Sheldon often says that he believes his 4's are underrated, and I agree. The E on this bass is killa!

I have given Frank a substantial down payment on reacquiring this bass. Plus, I had committed to reacquire before he lowered the price, so I am paying the original $2k price because I think this bass is worth more than that.
$1700. This just happened last night. I sold my Warwick Dolphin to fund the purchase and it finally transacted last night. Sorry dude. Also, Frank's child is ill and so he hasn't had time to get online and update his threads.
