I just got back from GuitarX to visit my new ABII, have to wait a week to pick it up. What a gorgeus insturment. The craftsmanship is light years ahead of every other bass I looked at, the finish is top notch.
Originally I was concerned about a couple of things about buying a bass that I had never seen, heard or heard of and the fanned frets. Now I'm no bass hero but I can get fret buzz just as easily out of the fanned fret as I can a standard fret. (just kidding) The tone is incredible. It ended up that I had nothing to worry about.
Much thanks to Gary at GuitarX for letting me choose the Dingwall and Sheldon and crew for crafting such an awesome bass.

Gary is a really great guy to do business with, and yes, you have one of the most stunning ABII's I've ever seen! Post some pics when you get it home please!
I can't speak for Tim here, as I may have misunderstood, but if I'm not mistaken I believe he had to pass on the bass, which put it in the grubby little hands of #2 -- me!
I've had it for about a week, and it's a thoroughly marvellous instrument. I'll take some glamour shots for y'all, if you're not tired of buckeye burl topped new ABIIs yet
