Hey all-- Some first glimpses of the Dingwall booth at NAMM, all those righteous basses we saw on the press release, in person. Seems that Sheldon is using EA amplification in his booth Anyway--thanks to Psychicpet for posting them http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=397847
As usual I forgot my camera for the first couple of days and then was too busy to really take any photos.[/quote:3a5u5o8k] In a rare move, I actually brought my camera and actually used it a couple of times. The shot of Dingwall Sales came out OK but there must have been a minor earthquake when my friend Steve took the picture of the three of us. Thanks Sheldon and Dingwall Sales for your time and input. It was great meeting both of you in person. John

I have never had a problem with Thomastic strings. I tried chromes and they didn't seem to be as soft or mellow and maybe even a little brighter than Thomastic flats. I just love the tone I get from the Thomastics. My bass teacher, Mike Dimin, who uses Thomastic roundwounds said he could get tones he never thought possible on flats. My Prima Artist came with Dingwall strings but I found them to be much to bright for me and doing a lot of sliding I don't like the string noise. I will have my Z3 set up with flats when I get it. 2+ years. Ouch!! At least I now have my PA to help with the wait.HA!HA!
Hi Sheldon, Sorry I missed Leland when I was there but I understand through my experience with Thomastic flats he will now be using them. They are the best. It was a pleasure meeting you and Dingwall Sales and that you will have my new Z3 to me in 6 months. HA!HA! I wish!! I'll talk to you later on that. Regards, David[/quote:pe440t7g] Do you mean that I have to try Thomastic Flats for the thud part of the spectrum? How do they compare to the Chrome Flats? (not price-wise, only tone-wise). My experience with TI strings has been less than stellar two times over (loose wrappings on the E and A strings in two sets; I know it happens but it is annoying when there is no reply from the company). After few calls the company asked me to send the strings over (in the original packaging) and then they'd decide what they'd do. I did not bother after that and never gave them another try PS such things happen with strings (never happened with my Dingwall strings!!!! yeah!!!) but I always had feedback and product replacement when things went wrong (DR strings and GHS get honorable mentions)

I'm back to the snowy white north. What a shock to the system, I've got to acclimate all over again. Thanks to all who dropped by the booth. As usual I forgot my camera for the first couple of days and then was too busy to really take any photos. Here's what I have. After holding that beautiful blue Z3 in my hands at NAMM I had to pull the trigger. Now I wait for about 2 years unless Sheldon can come up with a faster way of making them? HA!HA! At least I will have my P.A. to keep me company. Great show! I'm interested to hear how Dingwall did at the show. The wait's get longer.

Thanks for the great pics Harry DAS is getting stronger and stronger. Sheldon is to blame and he needs to do something about it ASAP, for my case of severe Dingwall-itis
